State Advisory Council on Indian Education

Purpose:
Advises the SBE on ways to more effectively meet the educational needs of Indian students and to advocate for meaningful programs and high standards for American Indian students.
Membership:
13 members appointed by the President Pro Tem, the Speaker of the House, and the NC Commission on Indian Affairs. Membership includes parents, educators, rep. From the UNC Board of Governors, rep. From the NC Comm. On Indian Affairs, rep. From the House of Rep. And the Senate.
