1.0       Pursuant to N.C.G.S. ~ 115C-150.5-.8 (Article 9B), the State Board of Education sets the guidelines for the development of Local AIG Plans by all LEAs. The guidelines set the framework for all LEAs to ensure quality programming for AIG learners in North Carolina while honoring local context and flexibility. 

1.1       The guidelines shall be the NC AIG Program Standards and may be accessed at http://www.ncpublicschools.org/docs/aig/ncaig-program-standards.pdf

1.2       DPI will develop timelines and procedures to support the implementation of these guidelines.  These procedures will be disseminated at least nine months prior to the date Local AIG Plans are due to the SBE/DPI for comments.

1.3       All Local AIG Plans shall be aligned with the NC AIG Program standards and monitored for continuous program improvement.
