If a local board of education determines

  1. that a Superintendent, Associate, or Assistant Superintendent may have engaged in misconduct that may justify dismissal;
  2. that additional time is needed to investigate whether the misconduct occurred; an
  3. that the Superintendent, Associate, or Assistant Superintendent should be suspended with pay,

the local board may continue to use state funds to pay the salary of the Superintendent, Associate, or Assistant Superintendent during the period of suspension, but not exceeding 90 calendar days.  This policy does not permit a local school unit to pay for a replacement from state funds during the 90-day period.
